MICHIGAN JUDGE HOLDS NO PUNCHES IN SENTENCING OF A POLICE OFFICER WHO USES EXCESSIVE FORCE 

A Michigan Judge Holds no Punches In Sentencing Against Police Officer Who Punches a Man 16 Times During A Traffic Stop! William Melendez was sentenced Tuesday morning for his involvement in a police brutality case that happened in 2015. The former police officer was convicted of assaulting Floyd Dent during a traffic stop last year. Given a sentence of 13 months to 10 years in prison. Judge Vonda speaks before the sentencing, saying Melendez and his officer were playing a “game” when they decided to pull over Dent. William Melendez, 47, was caught on the dashboard camera in January of 2015 assaulting driver Floyd Dent, Striking him16 times. Mr. Dent also testify’s that he was choked so hard he passed out.
